Islamic Pilgrimage and its Importance

Hajj, the obligatory Islamic pilgrimage, is undertaken annually during the month of Dhu-al-Hijjah. Every year, millions of pilgrims arrive in the holy city of Makkah through their December Umrah Packages London and from across the globe. Pilgrims gather here and commence the holy rituals on the 8th of Dhu-al-Hijjah together. These rituals then continue for a period of 5 days, ending on the 12th of Dhu-al-Hijjah. During this time, pilgrims travel to different places and offer the holy rituals there, as specified in the Sunnah of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW).

Significance of Hajj.

Observance of Hajj pilgrimage is among the ‘Five Pillars of Islam’. Performance of hajj pilgrimage is obligatory on every adult Muslim only if he/she can afford it financially as well as possess the physical and mental capability for it. For such a person, hajj is obligatory to be performed once in a lifetime as it’s an obligation.

Hajj is such an Ibadah that the ruling of its obligation on Muslims has been mentioned in the Holy Quran as well.

History.

In the performance of Hajj, Muslims retrace the route followed by the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) as well as of the prophets before him i.e., Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS).

Prohibitions of Ihram.

In order to offer the holy rituals of hajj, pilgrims necessarily need to be in the state of Ihram. When a pilgrim assumes the state of Ihram, certain things become prohibited for him/her for a certain period of time which are permissible otherwise. For instance, whilst in the state of Ihram, it is forbidden for a pilgrim to engage in sexual activity; argue or engage in violence; cut hair and nails; use scents, etc.

Important events of Hajj pilgrimage.

  1. On the first day of Hajj, pilgrims observe the minor pilgrimage i.e., Umrah in Makkah city. This day is ended by pilgrims spending their night in the valley of Mina.
  2. The second day of Hajj witnesses the traveling of pilgrims towards Mount Arafat where they will spend their afternoon. As the sun sets, pilgrims then head 5.5 miles west of Arafat to the region of ‘Muzdalifah’.
  3. During the final three days of hajj, coinciding with Eid-al-Adha, pilgrims observe;

  • Tawaf of the Holy Kaabah for one final time.
  • Cast stones i.e., Rami-al-Jamarat in Mina.
  • Slaughter an animal i.e., Nahar ritual.
  • Remove their Ihram by shaving their heads (for men) and trimming a fingertip’s length of their hair (for women).

During this time, Muslims who aren’t physically present on Hajj, celebrate Eid-al-Adha. Therefore, carrying out the ritual sacrificial slaughter of livestock i.e., Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi and distributing the shares of meat as per the Islamic tradition.

That’s the significance the pilgrimage of Hajj holds in Islam.

Why Zamzam is considered as the holy water?

Here is an article on Why Zamzam is considered as the holy water in Islam offered by our travel agency with the best and Cheap Ramadan Umrah packages. Muslims consider Zamzam water to be blessed holy water. The Zamzam well, which is located within Masjid-al-Haram in Makka, Saudi Arabia, is the source of this water. The well sits 20 meters east of the Al-Kaaba, which is considered Islam's holiest site.

Zamzam Water's History

According to Ibn Abbaas, Allah directed Prophet Ibrahim A.S to take his wife, Hajra, and son, Ismail, to Makkah. Makkah was a barren country at the time. The Prophet Ibrahim A.S returned home after leaving his wife and son with some dates and water, as per Allah SWT's order. The dates and water ran out after a while on this parched desert. Hajra began seeking water as young Ismail began to cry from thirst. She ran up and down the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times (that is why circumambulating the Kaaba seven times is an important ritual of Umrah and Hajj both).

Ismail began kicking the ground in his anxious state. Hajra was startled to see water pouring out of the spot where Ismail was kicking. She gathered some water for herself and began feeding it to Ismail with care. The water that sprang forth became known as Zamzam's blessed water. The Zamzam well, which was built around the spring, is considered holy and has healing abilities for both body and soul. It may be found in Mecca, in the area surrounding the Kaaba. The prophet Mohammed's heart was magically extracted from his living body and cleaned in Zamzam water, according to Islamic belief.

The Prophet was filled with increased wisdom and faith once his heart was replaced. According to Holy Prophet Muhammed PBUH, Zamzam water is the purest on the planet and is suitable for any purpose a pilgrim may have. Holy Prophet Muhammed PBUH is also reported to have drunk it while standing because of its sacredness. Physical healing claims include everything from relief from exhaustion during illness and pregnancy to rectifying thyroid disorders, safeguarding your teeth and eyesight, and curing just about anything. It is claimed to alleviate anxiety and provide bravery.

The biggest virtue of Zamzam well water, however, is spiritual growth and faith increase. Some think that just drinking Zamzam water keeps a person nourished and robust, and there are many legends about people who lived on it for 40 days and grew plumper as a result. While making the seven Tawaaf circuits around the Kaaba, Hajj or Umrah travelers make a point of sipping Zamzam well water. They also return home with bottles of Zamzam water. The Saudi Arabian government, on the other hand, prohibits commercial export of Zamzam water.

For generations, buckets and ropes were used to draw water from the Zamzam. The late Saudi Arabian sultan Abdullah repaired the well's machinery and water access in 2015. The refurbishment, which cost over SR700 million ($187 million USD), was finished in 2018. The well is housed in an underground area with windows that may be observed. The water is drawn by electric pumps and pumped into the Kaaba area. Pilgrims coming by bus are given Zamzam water bottles by volunteers. Pilgrims can get it by turning on a tap at a communal water station or filling bottles from plastic barrels stationed near the beginning point of the Taawaf circles on the Kaaba.

Why Journey of Umrah Is Important?

Here is an article on Why Journey of Umrah Is Important offered by our travel agency with cheap Umrah packages. In contrast to the Hajj, which has particular dates based on the Islamic lunar calendar, the Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, the Arab region, Saudi Arabia, made by Muslims at any time of year. Many Muslims in different regions of the world refer to Umrah as the 'lesser pilgrimage or minor pilgrimage, because the Hajj is Islam's primary pilgrimage.

Although Umrah is not a religious duty like Hajj, it is highly valued in Islam because it is the Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah (peace be upon him). It provides spiritual advantages to individuals who make the trip from their homes to Makkah's holy city. To fulfill their religious obligations, Muslims employ several Umrah packages from the UK, such as Umrah Deals with Hotels, Umrah by air/flight, and Umrah by bus.

By reserving their chosen Umrah packages well in advance, Muslims in the UK can save a significant amount of money on the minor pilgrimage. They would have to buy their Umrah vacation package many months in advance for this purpose, so they are confident of the dates and do not have to cancel and rebook their packages later.

Umrah's Importance in Our Lives

In the presence of Allah, the Great, a man feels better and more constructive, and the most essential is the awareness of our wrongdoings, which is sufficient to develop a Muslim person. Trying to get in touch with Hajar E Aswad or kissing Hajar E Aswad is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Any terrible conduct performed by a Muslim in the past can be forgiven because of the prospect of Umrah. Muslims should be grateful to Allah the Almighty for allowing them to participate in this important visit.

This trip is extremely important in the lives of Muslims because of the numerous perks and rewards. Muslims should avoid doing pointless activities and instead focus their efforts on important goals. Our childhood spends its energy in movies and leaves faulty Islamic teachings, and we should do everything we can to welcome them in the context of Salah and the Quran. May Allah reward us for our pious acts. Ameen!

4 Reasons Why Every Muslim Should Perform Umrah

Everyone reading this should quickly learn about the benefits so that you may mark this modest journey on your calendar for this year.

1. Become Allah's Guest

A sincere Muslim fantasizes about being Allah's guest at His home. We have all been waiting for this moment our entire lives, and Allah has promised to be the most forgiving host. Visit and do Umrah as if there is no tomorrow to be accompanied by His blessings.

2. The monetary situation stabilizes.

Muslims spend money on visas, transportation, and food to commemorate Allah's gift. Allah repays them by making their financial problems sound and increase. Poverty can be alleviated by participating in this journey.

3. Your sins will be forgiven.

The most essential purpose for Muslims to perform Umrah is to atone for their sins and seek Allah's compassion. You have every opportunity to repent of your past and present transgressions since the reward for doing so is nothing short of Paradise (Jannah).

4. Jihad is equal to Jihad.

Some Muslims who fit under the categories of seniors, women, and the weak are eligible for this award. According to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Hajj and Umrah are the jihads of the old, the young, the feeble, and the ladies. Abu Hurairah" is the narrator (R.A).
